Butterfly Book

Newest notebook I created. I was really eager about finishing this project. It's the first one (I plan to make more with different types of butterflies and various sizes). It's A7 sized, 90 pages. I'm really proud of this one : )
I am really satisfied with effect, especially with gentle ombre effect on wings, I was worried colors will get lost on the way completely.

Lately I was palying around with felt and felt plushies and this is my newest creation. I'm really satisfied with how it turned out : ) I think I will make more of those (maybe in different sizes?)  In future, when I get better in making them I might consider selling some ^u^ Maybe not only octopuses though : D
Sicne most templates I'm using are selfmade I might prepare some and upload here later.

Wonderland matchbox set

Lately I wanted to find template for matchboxes since I had none at home. Accidentally I ran into this tutorial: http://blog.swap-bot.com/rachels-matchbox-template/
I absolutely loved the idea of envelope-style matchboxes and I already have small collection of them : )
I decided to share my favourite creation here - Wonderland matchbox set.
Set includes:
 - envelope-style matchbox outside wrap from black cardboard and elements of scrapbooking paper
 - inside drawer from black cardboard with tiny ribbon loop for easier using
 - 18-paged miniature book 35 x 48 mm
The box is exactly matchbox sized.
Here are some detail photos of whole set. Since box small and flap closing box doesn't like to stay closed original artist suggested to use some kind of tying for it - in my case black ribbon. To make sure it will stay in place I made two small vertical cuts in the back and put ribbon through. To give it more finished look I added little spades symbol : ) Another trick I learned while making this project which you can see on bottle - transparent tracing paper with varnish create wonderful transparency. I love how this part turned out really much <3 I'm sure I will use this idea in many other occasions. At first this set was supposed to include only box but my bookbinding syndrome woke up so since then book seemed obligatory xD
I hope you like that project, I really loved making it a lot. I plan to make bigger sized boxes like that as cigarette box for my friends, we will see how this will turn out : )

Varnished paper stars

Lately I got addicted to folding paper stars and was considering using them for decorating books. Popped paper stars are fragile though and would immediately flattened down for sure, losing their pretty shape. Then I found this tutorial http://myntkat.deviantart.com/art/How-to-varnish-paperstars-108357944 about using varnish on paper stars to be able to use them as jewelery. I was bit afraid of trying it, since all liquid acrylic varnish I used so far were always sticky and got easily dirty. I bought new one specially for that purpose though, Soluble Varnish Gloss by Daler&Rowney. And I must say, I loved the effect! I really reccomend this varnish for glossing any crafts, they really become nice and glossy, and in case of my paper stars - keep shape perfectly. Here is effect of this little experiment:
Only disadvantage is that paper becomes darker, as you can see on second photo - varnished stars are on right, more glossy but also varnish leaves paper with bit 'wet' feeling. They look more like candy now XD

All in all it's really great method to keep your stars or any other fragile paper crafts in shape. I'm not sure if it will be enough to use them as book cover decoration, but I already planned making some earrings with them : )

Rainbow Dream

Long time no see, since I was spending time with my beloved Eyslyn (http://raspberrydeer.blogspot.de) <3 As I was in her place I bought lots of accessories for my crafting, I will show some photos of them soon.

Here is my latest creation, Rainbow collection <3 I decided to make book with rainbow pages, and then used scraps of paper to create paper stars I filled IKEA bottle with. It was really lots of fun, especially making paper stars was really relaxing. Some of them are made by Eyslyn too P: Lollipop by Manufaktura Cukierków, handmade sweet manufacture located in Warsaw <3
Rainbow Book is 10,5x14 cm, 100 pages, coptic stitched.
Rainbow Jar contains around 100 paper stars in rainbow colors.
